Helping investors quickly assess a location’s investment potential using actual data.
What's the problem here then?
More and more people are choosing to invest further afield, in areas they’re less familiar with, rather than sticking to their own backyard.
When starting out, many budding investors suffer from "analysis paralysis" and struggle to know if the area they are looking at is a good place to invest their capital.
The solution
A simple tool that lets the investor quickly input a UK postcode and immediately have a set of relevant data for the area revealed to them such as average prices, yields, growth prospects etc.
Plus, it takes all this data and gives the postcode an investment score, making it easier to compare with other areas.
With a wide range of no-code tools available for building applications, it was the ideal way for a designer to go from idea to MVP in just 2–3 weeks.
With tools and dashboards that display various data points the interface can be quite muddled, but by focusing on a Bento Grid approach this allows bite-size chunks of data and gives room for additional KPI's in the future.
What's happening with this project?
This tool is still in the testing phase, ironing out a few bugs before I push the MVP out to a group of property investors for some initial feedback.
I am also exploring the use of graphs to enhance the tool with an additional layer of visual understanding.
